Naming DVDBuilder 2.2.1 installer and assemblies after the CLR version

In DVDBuilder 2.2.1 we changed the names of the .NET installers to reflect the supported CLR (Common Language Runtime) version.

For example:

DVDBuilder.2.2.1.CLR2.VC90.Demo.Setup.msi replaces DVDBuilder.2.1.3.Net20.Demo.Setup.msi, DVDBuilder.2.1.3.Net30.Demo.Setup.msi and DVDBuilder.2.1.3.Net35.Demo.Setup.msi. The CLR2.VC90 part of the name means that the version is for Common Language Runtime 2.0 and Visual Studio 2008.

In version 2.2.1 we also added CLR4 and Visual Studio 2010 / 2012 support. For example the 32 bit installer for CLR4 and Visual Studio 2010 / 2012 is DVDBuilder.2.2.1.CLR4.VC100.Demo.Setup.msi

The .NET assemblies also changed. The new assemblies are:

  • DVDBuilder.clr2.dll. This replaces DVDBuilder.NET.2.0.dll, DVDBuilder.NET.3.0.dll and DVDBuilder.NET.3.5.dll.
  • DVDBuilder.clr2.x64.dll. This replaces DVDBuilder.NET.2.0.x64.dll, DVDBuilder.NET.3.0.x64.dll and DVDBuilder.NET.3.5.x64.dll.
  • DVDBuilder.clr4.dll. This is a new CLR4 assembly for use with 32Bit .NET 4 and .NET 4.5.
  • DVDBuilder.clr4.x64.dll. This is a new CLR4 assembly for use with 64Bit .NET 4 and .NET 4.5.

The CLR2 versions are compatible with .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5.

The CLR4 versions are compatible with .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5.
